The microstructure and tensile failure evolution of AA5754O aluminum alloy CMT joints were investigated in this study. First, the properties observed using a hardness test metallographic test. studied situ CT tests. defects heat-affected zone mainly composed pores with large sphericity. softening was due to decrease effective bearing area increase number defects. There shrinkage sphericity less than 0.6 fusion continuous growth combination pores, which led area. Meanwhile, variation process mean radii meso-defects analyzed. material constants αRT αRTm 1.87 6.20 7.21 5.31 zone, respectively, found Rich Tracey model improved model.
